Member of the Bundestag from the SPD, Frank Junge, visited Ilim Nordic Timber plant in Wismar
December 5th, 2016, Frank Junge, member of the Bundestag from social democratic party of Germany (SPD), visited Ilim Nordic Timber mill in Wismar, Germany. Frank Junge stressed the importance of wood processing cluster, located in Wismar, as significant employer and industrial manufacturer in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The participants of the meeting discussed the initiatives related to the Plan for climate protection 2050 and the Paris Protocol. The role of timber use will increase during implementation of environmental policy on reduce of carbon emissions. Also questions were raised regarding the new technical regulations on the content of dust in the air at the workplace.
Carsten Doehring, CEO, "Ilim Timber Germany", as well as Chairman of the Board of the Association of sawmill and woodworking industry of Germany, said: "The woodworking cluster in the industrial region Haffeld employs 3 000 people being one of the largest employers in the region. We are proud of our high-quality products from renewable raw materials which are widely known in global timber markets".
