Carsten Doehring elected the Chairman of the Board of the German Association of the Sawmilling and Timber Industry
Carsten Doehring, the Director General of Ilim Tinber Germany was elected as the Chairman of the Board of the German Association of the Sawmilling and Timber Industry (Deutsche Säge- und Holzindustrie).
On November 25th 2015 Carsten Doehring was elected as the Chairman of the Board at the General meeting of the German Association of the Sawmilling and Timber Industry that took place in Würzburg. Carsten Doehring is also a board member of the Council of the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS).
The new board is characterized by a balanced representation from different operating variables and the various regions, hard- and softwood industry. In addition, the board members are very well connected with other associations and contribute in this way to deepening cooperation in the sector.
The new Board will focus on the needs of smaller and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, the number of Board members was increased to 8 to include the representatives of such enterprises.
Carsten Doehring thanked the Board members for the trust and noted: "One focus of my term is the further strengthening of advocacy at the European level. The topics discussed in Brussels emerge also at the national level – but sometimes when it is too late to react. We need to keep an alert eye on the European legislation and take proper steps immediately".
